I just have no interest in seeing this movie.

I don't give a shit about the excesses of Wall Street being glorified.  Am I the only one?  And get off my lawn.

Movie was solid, but long.

I thought this would be about the article about the real life daughter of one of the dudes in the movie that, I assume, has gone viral. Kind of hints about how they are Libs in Hollywood, but glorify Wall Street, as YK mentions above. They actually kind of mock Wall Street and make a comedy about it, but I see what the naysayers are getting at.

The Adam link bugs me. I made comment when I went to see Bad Grandpa at the theater and how many kids were in there....as well as a new born. Just disgusting.

A fat couple brought a baby into the New Years day 1;30 showing of American Hustle.  Baby started crying 15 minutes into it.  I stood up, turned around and stared at her.  She left w the baby.  At some point, the male troglodyte partner left as well, because he wasn't there at the end.

I just hate people.  What kind of pea brain thinks its okay to bring a baby into a movie theater?  (this is a different issue than the dickhead bringing the 5 year old into Wizard of Wall  Street).

Any answers as to why?

Any?

Bueller??

I've noticed that a lot of the folks who bring babies into the movies are Mexican. They almost always enter the theater 1/3 of the way through the movie.

They could only find a babysitter for their other 12 children.

I didn't want to comment on race.

I don't tend to see popular movies at the theaters, or rather ones where this kind of neanderthal would bring a kid to a theater, The only two popular flicks i saw last year at the theater were Bad Grandpa and I guess Gangster Squad last January....which was kid less.

But the time I did see it with Bad Grandpa was Mexican.....actually the theater was predominately Mexican. I don't see why they couldn't get one of the other 17 family members in the house to watch the kid.

I am a fan of Jonah Hill and DiCaprio.  I will catch this on DVD when it comes out.

On the note of New Year.  The last two years we let my daughter stay up til midnight.  In reality she falls asleep by 10 and we wake her up at 11:45.  I get that it is almost midnight but these NY shows are ridiculous.  Tons of sex and booze and other inappropriate content.  As soon as the ball dropped they showed Jenny Mccarthy or some other porn actress making out with a sailor.   Mily Cyrus acting like the whore she is too.  Had to quickly turn it off.  Kinda ridiculous for what they claim is a "family show."

I didn't take it as glorifying the lifestyle, though I'm sure there are tons of people that will accept this as Scarface for a new generation. But, while still being a comedy, I took it as being excessive and disgusting. Someone used the analogy of forcing a kid to smoke a whole carton of cigarettes to turn them off the idea, this is kind of that idea in movie form, but for hookers and crack...and quaaludes

We've stopped going to movie theaters in Orange and opt for Anaheim Hills or Irvine now since the "Mexican babies roaming the aisles" thing was getting too much to handle.

Families from Orangewood and Haster, I see.

And they always sit right in front of you and the dad's wearing a giant sombrero that blocks your view.

Yeah, the previews remind me too much of Billionaire Boys Club.  If anyone even knows what I'm talking about.

I think this is the article you're referring to.

Apparently the real life Jordan Belfort was a business associate of her father and ended up being a star witness in many cases against him for some of the scandals they both did together.  She seems to hate her father too, but is just really pissed at the glorification of Leo's character.

i was intrigued by this movie at first, but stuff keeps coming out about some of awful things it glorifies and the people involved. i don't have any interest in it now.

when basic instinct came out, my wife and i decided to see it. we knew in advance it was going to be pretty raunchy in parts. at the theater that afternoon, there were two ladies who came in with kids under 5. they sat there allowing their kids to see all kinds of sex going on that huge screen, as well people being murdered with an ice pick. i wanted to yell at both of those idiots for allowing their kids to be subjected to clearly adult material.

my brother and i often catch a late show on saturday nights, usually 10:00 or later. it's stunning to see the amount of kids under the age of 10 who are at the theaters with their parents at that hour. babies, toddlers, pre-schoolers, second graders - they're often there seeing a late night showing of stuff they'll never understand or shouldn't see because mom & dad just had to see this movie and there weren't any sitters available. i don't get it.
