I was using his criteria. If he put Richards in the fail column, Jepsen deserves to be in the success column

I remember being concerned about Weaver after his horrible spring last year. Then the bell sounded and he became the Weaver we are accustomed to.

If Jepsen repeats that effort from last year...I'll give Butcher credit. Apologies if I want to see a larger sample size then 2 good months following a very inconsistent start to his career

I figured since you were ok using with Richards' small sample size, it be ok to do the same with Jepsen's.

Does a bad start on a hot day in Phoenix in spring training bother me? No.

 

Does a bad start on a hot, humid day in Arlington in July bother me? Absolutely.

 

I'd prefer the former to the latter. So if the former means that, finally, the latter doesn't happen, then I hope he gives up all the bombs in the world in the Valley of the Sun.
