i remember reading many years ago, after the yankees started the yes network, they were bringing in between 300-350 million per year just from the network. that's why they've never given a piss about the luxury tax.

When viewership and attendance dropped last year, they probably had that idea reinforced. Better to pay luxury tax than lose the ad and gate revenue.

Best part is they still sign all the best FA's. Bet you they somehow end up with Price as well.
