I think they get none of those guys. My prediction is Les Miles or Mike Gundy i mean he is a man and he's over 40 now

I don't care that they just got extensions, my guess is it will be either Briles or Franklin.

I like a lot of those names but I don't think they get any of them. I think it ends up being Franklin and I like him there too. I also think that the target coaches aren't always the best hires. Honestly, I think a lot of the best coaches in college are ex-NFL coaches who are young and energetic. If they can learn the recruiting game at all they succeed.

They are not fake health issues, his symptoms are a direct reaction to a declining program.

Agree, but to those that love the coaching aspect of college, I think the tiers of football coaching goes like this:

 

Texas > USC > NFL > Stanford

Just wondering how many of us weren't put on the selection committee to find the next Texas coach. At least half the people on it have no apparent connection with, or knowledge of, football. A former Ambassador to Switzerland ought to be of tremendous help in finding the next Mack Brown.

Meyer is an Ohio native, played at Cincinnati. His first college coaching experience was as a graduate assistant at Ohio State under Earle Bruce. He isn't going to Texas.

 

I don't know why Art Briles would go either. He has built Baylor from an afterthought into a national power, and if he stays there the stadium will be named after him. He goes to Texas and the national championship pressure begins immediately.

 

Some things just aren't worth the extra money.

SI reporting that Malzahn's dream job is Texas and he would take it in a heartbeat.  If UT doesn't announce someone before the NC game expect that rumor to pick up steam.
