• Bob Nightengale of USA Today has heard that Choo is looking for $140MM over seven years (Twitter link). Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News tweets that he's heard the same.

Choo arguably gives Seattle a better team on paper than the Angels. If they then trade for Price....

I like what someone mentioned in the Trumbo trade thread:  Sign Choo.  Move Calhoun to DH an rotate him with Pujols and Hamilton.  Then trade Kendrick or Aybar for more minor prospects.  We would have the money to sign Choo.  We add another high OBS guy, we replace Trumbo and we have Green and Lindsay ready to replace Kendrick, or Romine to replace Aybar.  Both Kendrick and Aybar were are big trade pieces anyway.  If we could have landed two starter pitching for Trumbo, what do you think we could get for Kendrick or Aybar?

Choo's going to command about 20 million a year. I think (or at least hope) the Mariners are the ones to give him that contract.

I agree sign Choo and trade Aybar for another SP.

David Price Wouldn't Sign Extension With Mariners

 

although I don't know if that's good or bad for us.  They may be in the FA market for a starter now.
