My wife uses the Dollar stores to pick up items for her classroom that are cheaper than retail stores but she is no fool. Pencil packages are cheaper at otyer stores as is paper products. Often she is hunting for simple prizes or novelty erasers.

I go there for targets. Zombies on Halloween, nutcracker soldiers at Christmas, each holiday the stores are stocked with something use for just a buck.

As a teacher, my wife loves the 99 cent store, Dollar Store, etc. as she has to get little knick knacks (or is it nick nacks?) for her kids for holidays. That place is a trip.

had a sales gig in San Diego with a dollar store right beneath our office suite. it's the last time I've ever been in one and purchased a box of Frosted Flakes, but the box was in Spanish, and a shower curtain that was the equivalent of a very cheap black garbage bag with some holes at the top that never worked as it always stuck to itself.

Cory gets all of his condoms from the dollar store. To date, in 7 years, he has purchased 345 individually wrapped condoms.

 

Side note - if anyone needs any condoms, Cory has 345 of them.

my brother owned a couple of dollar stores with a few business partners. worst experience of his life working with a couple those guys. 

 

jay leno does a segment once in a while called "things we found at the dollar store". always some hilarious crap. one time he found a cassette album from his band leader (kevin eubanks ).

I knew all that.   There seems to be a difference in merchandise too between the Dollar Tree and 99 Cents only stores.

 

 

I have bought toothpaste, hand soap, Ziploc bags, solar rock lights, paper plates, small waste baskets, C&H sugar, etc from the Dollar store.
