Tommy Hanson and Chris Nelson also non-tendered

#Angels announce non-tenders Tommy Hanson, Jerome Williams, Chris Nelson and Juan Gutierrez.

on the off chance anyone really cares about those ones.

The first two are a bit surprising as I thought at least one of them would be tendered, specificially Jerome (Hanson simply for the fact he was so cheap and might have been a tradeable asset). Nelson became an immediate non-tender once Freese was acquired and J.C. of course was already DFA'd so.... Really it seems to be coming down to not taking the risk on handing out the $3-4 million to both Hanson and Williams and the lower amounts to the other two.

I hope they bring back Hanson for cheap.  I'm probably crazy but I think he may be useful if you limit his work.

I do think he's a potentially interesting candidate for a move to the bullpen.

I doubt the Angels are the team to give him that shot, but if it picks up some fastball velocity and can lean more on a hopefully better fastball and say his curveball for short relief stints, he might be worthwhile.
