I agree. He was on a St Louis sports talk radio show the day of the trade. I didn't get a chance to listen to it, but here's a couple of his quotes.

@msmallm2: Peter Bourjos on the trade to the @Cardinals- "I heard it's the best place to play baseball in the major leagues...the fan base is unreal"

The Cardinals are my NL team -- I'll be rooting for Peter Bourjos to do well.

 

He has St. Louis written all over him and if he can play anything like he did when he got the starting gig with the Halos and wasn't hurt, he'll be a fan favorite very quickly in St. Louis.

 

The best baseball fans in the country are in St. Louis (sorry, Anaheim)

 

I'm hoping Bourjos has a great year and does all the little things that lead to wins which means another NL title and World Series appearance for St. Louis.

Cardinals outfielders were 3rd worst defensively in baseball last year. He's going to get plenty of playing time regardless if he's hitting well or below average.

Bourjos should be excited. He has a clear shot to be their everyday CF and be able to produce for the next three seasons until he hits FA.

He wasn't going to get the same opportunity to get everyday PAs to build his free agency case. Why wouldn't he be stoked?
