That said, this is why you want a farm system. If you had a healthy, productive farm system you can find guys like this for the league minimum internally.

Assuming he passes the physical next week, this is a solid signing.  I am very curious what happens to Trumbo, Kendrick and maybe even Aybar.  Does Dipoto made a big trade for a guy like Price and then sign Johan Santana or Halladay on a one year deal?  I assume the Angels want to keep that first round pick next year so Garza, Ubaldo etc are out.

I was not aware that you knew the players Tampa Bay wants for Price and that a 3 team trade is not possible.  My mistake.

 

Garza is from California and so maybe he might take a discount to play for the Angels.

Certainly would negate some of the pitching upgrades they make considering the D will be costing them outs and runs.

Yep, this lineup can easily absorb a Romine at SS, the defense cannot absorb a Green at 2B.
