Howard future

After getting 3B locked up and taking on some extra salary, I see Howie as the most expendable trade piece. Trumbo can DH, be a 4th outfielder, and give Pujols time off at first, so he is valuable for the Angels. I think Howie will be traded for a pitcher and Green or another young guy gets a chance at 2B. Howie is also coming off of a solid year so he has good trade value.

I really like Howie, but I don't see him staying.

I'd really like to see the team hang onto Howie.  In a perfect world, we trade Trumbo for a starting pitcher, sign a starting pitcher, and sign or trade for two more pen arms.  Hard to see the team doing all of that and staying under the salary cap, but who knows.

FWIW, I'm glad Howard is with the Rockets now. Slacker, FT hacker, long-sleeve-on-one-arm-wearing, you're not superman. Good riddance.

It was so awesome to him cost the rockets the game against the Lakers with his FT's. Blake hitting that game winning 3 in his face was the cherry on top

I think he gets moved to the Nationals for Jordan Zimmerman.

I doubt they move him because they aren't a small market team and they aren't rebuilding, but it would be an interesting target. It would probably end up being about the same money for two years of each, but depending on arbitration Zimmerman might get more. I assume the Angels would have to throw in at least a good prospect, too. 4 of the Nats top 10 prospects are RHP and another 2 are LHP, so they have good prospects coming up but they don't have a full rotation set for next year, even with him.

My thinking is that they let Laroche go after this season, or before, and move Ryan to first and Rendon to third.
