Bourjos traded to Cardinals

There is a lot of over reaction in this thread. I love Peter, but man he struggled to stay healthy, and we have needed a third baseman forever. I am not saying Freese is perfect, but I prefer him to having Jimenez there.

Let's be fair - he pulled his hamstring around midnight on a cold night in the 14th inning of a game which saw about three DL trips and he had his hand broken on a HBP, something that happens to players all the time.

This was bad luck. There is no reason to expect his injury troubles to continue, at least not nearly as much as we should be expecting David Freeze's back issues to continue.

I think some of you guys are over valuing Bourjos way too much. I know we fall victim to only thinking the stories that come out are the only ones happening. It's very possible Dipoto has been shopping Bourjos for weeks and has received zero interest in him. We don't know.

I'm actually good with this trade. We have a huge hole at 3B that needs to be filled. Bourjos was going to be nothing but a defensive replacement/pinch runner next year on this team with Calhoun going into the OF. Don't see what the huge deal is here.

I know I am actually talking about his hip issue. I think both teams are hoping that they are buying low.

I'm fine with this trade. This allows DiPoto to trade one of Kendrick or Aybar for a starting pitcher. He wasn't going to get a quality starter for Bourjos alone. Nor for Trumbo alone.

About Trumbo, I am wondering with the hiring of Don Baylor, if that translates to the Angels keeping Trumbo unless someone overpays for him.
