With Bourjos out, #Angels 2014 outfield is expected to be: Hamilton in LF, Trout in CF, Calhoun in RF, with Trumbo at DH.

This is going to be dumb if it is straight up. I also think he means we are keeping Trumbo. I actually think its a pretty fair deal, just not the deal I would make considering he is one of our trade pieces and we need pitching.

Freese is coming off a terrible season in which he had back trouble and is on the wrong side of 30. Plus he's a terrible defender.

 

Bourjos is injury-prone, but still only 27 and one of he best defensive players in the game. When he's healthy he plays like a star.

 

Bad, bad trade. I've lost all faith in Jerry Dipoto.

I have no problem with the trade from an offensive standpoint. Freeze is probably a good bet to provide more offense than Peter. The problem is that the team issue has been run prevention, and we are turning one of the best defensive players in the game into one of the worst.

We have needed a third baseman for some time.

 

I'll be honest, from what I heard there isn't much interest in Bourjos out there and the Angels were not ever going to get a good, cheap arm for him. So considering that, I'm fine with this.

I can confirm that the Angels weren't going to get a decent arm for Bourjos.

He's not on the wrong side of 30, he is 30. He will turn 31 right around opening day. This opens up CF for Trout. I have no idea how they will get the pitching they need but this isn't a bad one for one trade. Bourjos is on the wrong side of healthy.

Freese actually is a really good player.  I didn't realize he was as good as he actually is.  If he is healthy, I am not sure this is such a bad trade.
