Fernandez wins NL ROY; Puig 2nd

Recommended Posts

Not a Dodgers fan, but it is kind of silly to leave Puig off of a three-vote ballot.

Ohh no doubt. I don't think Puig should have finished anywhere below 2 on anyone's ballot. I just like watching people get angry over the feeling of entitlement that Puig had this LEGENDARY season and was a runaway rookie of the year. Hanley Ramirez had a better year and played in 20 less games.

statistically fernandez was very good, but puig was a game changer. i don't think it's any coincidence that the dodgers resurgence coincided with puig being called up, and on that alone i would have voted for him. he turned around the dodgers season (not by himself, but he certainly was a big part of it. meanwhile, the marlins finished in 80th place again.).

Fernandez was not very good, he was great, look at the numbers he put up. Puig got called up and the Dodgers went 7-10 their first 17 games with Puig. The resurgence happened because of Ramirez, Puig and the pitching, not just Puig.

Fernandez was almost unhittable.  The guy had a better season than Puig, who himself, had an excellent year.  Fernandez was originally at AA ball and then brought up to the majors and he didnt lose a beat.  This kid is the real deal and is a Cy Young contender for years to come.  It's just a shame he's going to have to toil in the utter uselessness that is the Marlins organization.
