Dodgers want to trade Matt Kemp

I remember when it was up to debate whether or not Eithier would even get offered an extension past his FA years.

With how bad the Angels FA signings have been. The Dogs have:

Crawford: .736 OPS, 4 years/$82.5 million

Eithier: .783 OPS, 4 years/$71.5 million

Kemp: .723 OPS, 6 years/$130 million

Still doesn't match up to Pujols. But the Dogs will have a tough time like the Angels in hitting the eject button.

Exactly. Glad someone else finally says this. Everyone is praising them right now because they had a better year than us. I admit, I love their pitching. But their offense is highly overrated, and its not exactly cheap or young.

In another two years, the dogs are gonna be paying a ton of money to some very average (if not worse in crawford and ethiers case) players.

There is some serious revisionist history going on about the Wells trade. A clear majority supported the trade at the time. Pull the data from the old board.

I was only applauding the vernon wells trade when I thought we had gotten the bad guy from the movie commando.

So I think I should get a pass.

We should have insisted they include Sully as well.

I remember hearing about the trade and just assuming the Blue Jays would pay for most of that contract.  When I heard it was only 5 million, I was appalled.  

 

The Napoli stuff was just the cherry on top.  What a horrendous trade.

I was in favor of the trade because first impression was the jays were paying a big chunk of his salary. Turned into a bad deal obviously. It's too bad because Vernon is one of the good guys. Biggest problem was he was being paid 3x what he is worth.

I remember hoping is was for Bautista. "Napoli and Rivera for Bautista would be perfect" I thought to myself. Like you when it was announced Wells I assumed Jays were covering 80% of his salary. When the 5mil number came out the "it's not your money" camp were the loudest voices here for sure.
