As I said before, the rotation with Vargas wasn't good enough in 2013, I don't see any reason why it would be in 2014 unless you added another front of the rotation starter into the mix.

 

I'd much rather try and trade for Samardzija, Lynn or Price rather than spend money on Vargas.  

 

I do like the Beard though.  You wouldn't catch me wearing a fake one, but despite his antics he's a leader and a great competitor.
