Bourjos should have far more trade value than Trumbo.

However, Ruben Amaro might be salivating over Trumbo's ribbies and might offer his entire farm system -- you never know.

I agree with that. We need pitching in a bad way and if you can move both of those guys and get two quality young starters, even if they don't project to be anything other than very solid #3 guys, then make the move.

Calhoun's value is at the highest it'll ever be right now. It probably makes sense to trade him if they can get a team to bite.

I really like Bourjos as well, but I think the Angels need to let Trout play center, and he makes that difficult.

If both are traded, them that possibly means a Shuck/Trout/Calhoun OF and Hamilton becoming the DH. They would still need a 4th OF though, because Cowgill ain't it.

Yea, I see what you are saying AO, but getting a solid 4th outfielder isn't that difficult. Even if you have to take a chance on a guy to rebound like Hart, to be your 4th outfielder that is still better than going into next season without the starting pitching depth needed to compete.

Power is not the only skill set that matters in baseball. Bourjos has far more defensive value, is a better base runner and gets on base more than Trumbo. Getting hit and breaking one's wrist does not equal injury prone.

Additionally, as the MLB trade rumors post correctly stated, arbitration rewards power far more than defense. Bourjos will be a far better value $$ wise in the next three years.

I'd miss the 35 HR/100 RBI version of Trumbo, but will definitely not miss the horrendous two-month slumps that go along with it.

I totally agree.  Shuck is needed to lead off, and he's more than proved himself in the outfield.  He, Calhoun and Trout provide a lot of the team's energy.

The Angels are quickly turning into the Fox Doggies.  One mistake after another, and trading players you developed to try and fix past mistakes.  Only to have the players you trade for become marginal, while the players you trade away blossom.
