Xbox One or PS4?

i went to go buy an xbox one to have the kinect for parties but they don't work for folks with a/v racks, as the kinect cable is only 9' long.

so that sucks. get on it microsoft and make a longer cable.

Are you serious? They don't even have an extension cable available?

The cable itself is pretty damn long, though. Apparently they're working on an extension cable that should be out soon though.

If you have some leet electrical skillz couldn't you just cut open the insulation and extend the wire yourself?

cable is only 9 feet - not nearly long enough for us with A/V racks or projectors.

and yeah Angels For Life people are trying to hack on it themselves, but its a proprietary cable. some kind of USB 3.0 hybrid nonsense.

its really a big blunder on their part.

 

im sure monoprice will have one out soon, and MS will have an official one.

but until then i wont buy.

To be fair, I've had that GT since like the original xbox. Also the "X's" make me look extreme and stuff.

how is it as a blu-ray player?

also how is the cable overlay? ive heard its decent but still has a long ways to go. but anything is better than cable companies UI - they are awful.

I got the PS4 for Christmas, and am pretty happy with it so far.  The last gaming systems I had before this one are Gamecube and WII, so I don't think I'm the best judge of which new systems are best.

 

I will say that Battlefield 4 is an amazing game, and I'm excited to see that MLB the Show 4 will be out soon.

Also, Outlast, as a free game download on PS Plus is pretty awesome. One of the creepier games I've played, much like the very first Silent Hill on PlayStation 1

The first "Silent Hill" is one of my favorite all time games.  Great story and creepy as hell.  Wasn't as impressed with the "Silent Hill" titles afterwards.

Silent Hill 2 is pretty awesome as well, it's generally considered the best of the series I think but I just have so much connection to that first playthrough of the first Silent Hill that it'd always be my favorite. Creepy as static noises, shifting bathrooms, and some of the best creatures.

Agreed.  I enjoyed the 2nd one, itwas 2nd favorite of the series, but nothing topped that initial immersion into that nightmare world with the radio crackling and siren announcing your world was getting turned upsidedown.  I liked the third one as well but it started losing me with "The Room" and I don't think I played another one in the series after that.

Microsoft is lowering the price of the Xbox One in order to boost sales. PS4 is kicking the Kinect out of them in the UK so that is where they are first dropping prices and including Titan Fall as a bundle. This may lead to a price reduction in the US.

I think Titan Fall is on its way to smashing sales records.  It is getting such buzz and the reviewers that have played the beta say it is amazing.  Reminds me of the hype for Halo and for Gears of War.

Anyway I have no interest in buying an Xbone.  I still will end up getting a PS4 but probably not until Kingdom Hearts 3 comes out, which is probably 2016.

I don't see the XB1 taking over the PS4.  I think MS made quite a few missteps this time around.  PS4 is a much better gaming machine.
