Be prepared for a LOT of happy hour pics, where you'll scan the women and say: no, no, no, maybe, no.

Be prepared for a lot of indirect complaining about the ex; alot of celebrating very mundane acheivements of the kids; a LOT of wussified sons; a lot of motivational pics and sayings; and for sure, an entire greek chorus of supporting enablers for every complaint she has, no matter how batshiat crazy.

I really hope you're joking about the 2 things I have bolded. Have you raised a child on your own?

I think he's alluding to the fact that it's one thing to be proud that your 6 year-old hit the ball off the tee and ran to first instead of third finally but it's another to assume all 800 of your Facebook friends give a shit about it. There were a ton of mundane achievements my children had that I was very proud of but I didn't run up and down the street promoting them.

When my kid learns to poop on their own I am throwing them a pizza and brownie party, but the brownies will have ex-lax. I really want them to get a lot of practice at their newly acquired skill to really drive it home. Muscle memory.

And I will post details on facebook.

All 800? Probably not, but I'm sure there are plenty that do.

I think that raising a kid on your own is very very very hard so it's ok to be proud of them.

Not enough to justify flooding the wall with the mundane stuff. Your kid doesn't do something people other than the parents care about more than twice a month. I promise. If you are posting about stuff your kid is doing weekly your kid better be as involved as CJ ****ing Wilson.

No one is saying you can't post all the stupid shit your kid does that you find amazing. Just be prepared if you hear through the grapevine that practically no one gives a shit.

It will be okay. I'm sure you weren't doing anything important with that 3 seconds it took you to read their post.

Katie,

None of my kids grandparents are alive or on facebook; I haven't raised three kids as a single parent, I've raised them, horror of horrors, as a husband and wife.

I have said before on this thread; if your kid wins the league golf championship, (or comes in second), great.  If he got accepted into an Ivy, fantastic.

But the mindnumbing stuff I have read on facebook about "achievements" - oy vey.

Btw, my favorite fb poster I have is from some woman from church whom I really don't know that well.  Hers isn't plastered with "acheivements" and happy hours and great friends.  She tells interesting, funny stories.  key word INTERESTING.

Maybe its just me - 90% of the stuff I see on there about kids seems bragging.   And much of it bragging about lame stuff.

and as far as the 'wussified', I am just calling them as I see them on fb.  Not all single moms are raising wussified boys.  The FB single moms I see are raising some serious wusses.  Yay!! your seven-year-old boy finally rode his bike w/o training wheels.  Yaaaay!!!

I applaud you for admitting to the world your cross-dressing fetish and how you've managed to raise kids even in heels. You should post this on Facebook.
