Al Davis was right.  Lane Kiffin cannot coach.  Tennessee should send a thank you note to USC.  His stoic style hiding behind his laminated play scheme will never work at the college level.  More rah rah, good job! pats of the asses needed.  He's a poor leader and strategist.  So, with this resume, there is no big time college program would ever think about hiring him.  Maybe daddy in Dallas needs a clip board holder for his famous 4-3 defense.

Tennessee should send a thank you note to USC.

 

Kiffin made enough enemies in the south in his one year at Tennessee that he can kiss off ever getting any kind of meaningful job in the SEC and probably the ACC as well. His transgressions in Knoxville were many, but perhaps the biggest was his blatant fantasizing about being at USC while coaching at UT. He had the photos in the football office of Tennessee greats replaced with photos of USC players - as if the school that produced Peyton Manning, Reggie White and Jamal Lewis needs help in that department.
