Would you guys do it? He is potentially the best FA pitcher and he's still just 31. Maybe his inconsistency will drive down his price, but in any given year he can be a solid #2. Did he leave on good terms/ did he enjoy his time with the Angels? If so, he might be the best option after the Japanese pitcher for the 3 spot.

Up one year and down the next, the best strategy would have been to keep him in 2013 (anticipated up year) and assuming a solid season they could have traded him in late July for much more than TJ Sisk.

We shouldn't have gotten rid of him in the first place, but now that bus has passed. However, I'd rather have Tanaka take the last spot ( if filled by Vargas, Weaver, Wilson, and Richards).
