Definitely concerning how many young pitchers are having TJ surgery these days. Granted it doesn't have the effect it used to, but it still sucks to see them miss an entire year of development.

I fully understand guys wanting to avoid surgery if necessary. However, I also know that due to poor circulation within it, cartilaginous tissue takes forever to heal on its own, if it ever does. Why not take the sure thing now instead of waiting for months and then having to do it anyway?
