the marlins are nowhere near competing for anything.  they probably don't really want guys even remotely close being arb eligible.  They would want a couple of prospects that the halos can't afford to give up.  Getting guys with only two to three years of club control left doesn't do them any good at this point. 

 

They have one of the worst offenses in the history of baseball.  The 6th and 7th highest WAR for offensive players are Henderson Alvarez and Jose Fernandez at 0.5 and 0.4 each with less than 60 plate appearances.  They had six non pitchers with a WAR above 0.0.  Their team offensive WAR was -0.7. 

 

One, two, three or even four players are barely going to make a dent.

huh?  they don't give a rats ass about the current product on the field.  Their mo is to wait until they have the horses and then go all in.  What do their two championships have to do with anything?
