My cousin was shot through his skull with a capenter's nail gun used for framing. That is a damn big shaft of metal piercing the brain and yet, somehow he survived, got married, had a couple kids and built a beautiful multi tiered home in the mountains that rivals any builder. Nice guy but still has some residual effects, however you probably would never know it unless you spent extended time with him.
