Like Jepsen, having good stuff does not translate into success if you can't locate said stuff. Both these guys should be non tendered. The pen needs a complete makeover save DLR and Frieri.

De La Rosa has been very good. I'd say keep him and Frieri, and keep Williams as the emergency starter/long reliever, then blow up the rest. Release Blanton, don't tender Jepsen, and bring in 3 new faces either via trade or free agency or both. I like the idea of Lopez and Smith, and then exploring the Kendrick for Lee and Withrow trade. Then if Burnett is healthy you have a good problem on your hands.

I realize taking this route is dangerous but sticking their hand into the bag, pulling out a turd, throwing it against a wall and hoping it sticks hasn't really worked the last 2 years. Coello has potential and so does Morin and Berg but I'd rather keep those guys for depth. Get some pitchers with a track record and hope they maintain their career norms in a pitchers park.
