The way some of you are on Rivera's jock is ridiculous.

You're right. Recognizing the accomplishments of probably the greatest closer to ever wear a uniform is pretty ridiculous.

I have no issue whatsoever with the Yankees holding a ceremony for Mariano Rivera and acknowledging the accomplishments of Andy Pettitte, two major components of a perennial championship contending team. That said, I draw a degree of satisfaction from knowing that neither of them will be adding to their postseason stats.

Who said I had a problem with them celebrating their own players' last performances at Yankee Stadium?

I don't think anyone did.

I'm just saying its nice that the Yankees for once did not get to finish the season in picture perfect fashion like they tried to, in how they have made such a habit of doing so for so long.

That being said: Screw the Yankees.

LOL shut up. The greatest closer in the history of the game who has played for the same team every year of his career. The Yankees have every right to honor him. The fact that some Angels fans are bitter about it is idiotic. They have every right to honor him and Mo has earned the right to be honored. He is a HOF material pitcher and a class act.

There was no doubt in my mind that you were the OP looking at this thread. It's guys like you, whose team is well out of the playoffs, that post like this. Its this type of talk that created the "27 championships" banter from Yankees fans.

They can't win every year. We've only one once in 52.
