I don't really care in terms of this year anymore, but god I hope we never see Aybar batting leadoff again going forward.

I saw the lineup and it made me realize once again that my super secret off season desire is to find a guy that bats 2nd and plays 3rd with Aybar traded for a pitcher so Calhoun can lead off.

Not sure about balls/strikes tomorrow, but it wouldn't surprise me since he is a senior ump.

Don't go to sleep on Williams for the #5 spot in 2014.

If not for a 1 1/2 months stretch of bad pitching, he would have real solid numbers. Plus, he will have around 170 innings in 2013, making him a candidate for a rotation spot. He's got the assortment of pitches, touches 93-94, and when he keeps the ball down and throws strikes, he is very good.

123 innings (April through June and mid-August to now): 3.30 ERA and 1.20 WHIP

41 innings (July to mid-August): 8.50 ERA and 1.85 WHIP

Very solid when on, not good when not.

Minimize the bad, and he is a solid #5.

But that month and a half happened and that's quite a bit of terrible pitching.

This team needs better than what Jerome has done from a full time starting pitcher.

He's a decent enough swing man, but he's not reliable enough to he relied on for more than that.
