Officially concerned about Tommy Hanson

I've never seen him pitch but this is what wikipedia says "Hanson throws four main pitches: a four-seam fastball at 89–92 mph, a slider at 78–82 mph, and a curveball at 71–73 mph. He occasionally throws a two-seam fastball and changeup, mainly to left-handed hitters. His slider is his most common 2-strike pitch to right-handers, and it responsible for a plurality of his strikeouts. His curve has the highest whiff rate, at 38% over his career."

Not a big fan of this trade. I think Waldo will thrive when he stops jumping off the mound during his delivery. A pitching coach will see it.

Hanson stinks of damaged goods.

The word plurality concerns me...

My best friend's cousin plays Chutes and Ladders with Tommy during the offseason. Trust me, he is fooling everyone right now. He is going to drop the hammer big time once the season starts.

Ask him about Hanson's velocity through the Chutes. I'm not as concerned about the ladder.

Look, based on the wikipedia page (which, of course, could have been written by Hanson or his agent), if his four-seamer normally sits at 89-92, he's pretty much where it needs to be. Since his slider is the two-strike pitch to righties and his curve causes the highest whiff rate, as long as there is decent separation between his fastball, slider, and curve, he'll be fine.
