Hate to go all MMA-snob-bro, but yeah...boxing is boring compared to MMA/UFC.  The short rounds limit momentum, the big-ass gloves limit the damage, and every 20 seconds or so there's a clinch that slows everything down.  It's kinda like basketball now, there's hardly any flow and the action is always getting interrupted.  

 

Maybe I was just irritated because I got some Newcastle Werewolf to drink while watching the fight and that beer wasn't that good (although it was a bit better at room temperature).

I liked the Garcia/Matthysse fight.  I thought Garcia boxed really well and was able to negate Matthysse from landing his power punches.  However, he did land several of them over the night and Garcia proved to have a solid chin.  They are saying Garcia may be the Mayweather opponent.  If I'm Garcia's team, I don't do it.

 

Mayweather/Canelo was a great fight for Mayweather.  While I thought Mayweather would win, I also thought if anybody could challenge him, it would be Canelo.  Floyd schooled him.  I thought Canelo won a couple rounds, but overall Mayweather is too fast and his defense is possibly the best the sport has ever seen.

 

Honestly, I don't see who Mayweather fights next.  There is nobody out there from 140-154 that can beat him.

Personally, I don't like MMA.  I have tried to get into it, but as soon as they start wrestling, I lose interest.  Outside of baseball, there is no sport out there I love more than the sweet science.

The Strip was hood this weekend. Never have seen the sight that took place in the MGM on Friday. The Hispanic segment of the crowd and the African American segment talking smack at each other as they literally filled the entire casino. I am guessing it was a similar atmosphere to prison. 

 

When the aria is full of suspect characters you know to just stay off the strip. Luckily, the Mandarin was still a place of serenity. 

 

Didn't watch the fight, no good bets and I figured the fight would go the distance as Floyd doesnt look for the knockout nor does he expose himself to taking such a hit.
