If the Angels were a NL team...

If the Angels had made the playoffs last year trout MAY have won. But you can't discount the east coast bias. Remember Weaver won 20 games year before last and two voters didn't even have him in their top five pitchers in the league. That had to be bias. I do believe that trout may transcend the east coast bias at some point. He is from the east coast and that may be enough. Plus he is a good citizen. I doubt a west coast player that hits his wife and gets DUIs while getting pissed that the police don't recognize him would ever win an MVP. I think this year will be Chris Davis for the win. Just a hunch.

I seem to remember Ted Williams winning the triple crown twice and winning MVP neither time.

In 1942 he lost to Yankee 2nd baseman Joe "Flash" Gordon that led the league in two categories; strikeouts and (hitting into) double plays.

In 1947 he lost to Yankee center fielder Joe DiMaggio that did not lead the league in any category.

In both cases the writers we so obviously wrong and were pandering to the Yankees.

The writers also hated Williams because he had the gall to exercise his right of free speech by not giving interviews.

I do think Trout would have won it last year if we made the playoffs. Even with Cabrera taking the triple crown

I don't..too many people are stuck in their ways/thoughts

He'd have to turn around at least eight of those voters and that's probably not going to happen if the Angels win another 3-4 games.

I was expecting it to be about 18 to 10 with Cabrera winning it.
