Kole had better numbers in the minors and he has better numbers in the majors but I guess he doesn't have enough grit.

Calhoun against leftys in the majors he is hitting 

.333 .455 .444 .899

That is in only 11 plate appearances but he showed in the minors that he has no trouble hitting against leftys.

Because Scioscia does what he wants even if logic dictates otherwise.

Holy crap. I just noticed that. Is that a joke? It can't be real. Maybe it's because Aybar doesn't seem to get on base a lot when he's hitting before Trout. Ianetta walks a lot and has a higher OBP.

Can't really argue with that since he has the second highest obp on the team next to trout and is even higher against leftys.

Mike loves to platoon guys, he'll find any excuse for it.  It doesn't have to make sense. Like the contact play.  He platooned Kendrys even though he could hit lefties (.274 .341 OBP .750 OPS this season).  Its who he is.,..its what he does.

Platooning at this point is incomprehensible.  What is the advantage?  Play the kids and see what they can do.......period.

 

However, I approve of sitting Hamilton.  I think he should become the Angel Stadium Greeter from this day forward, at least he would be working for his millions.
