2014 schedule: Angels get six trips to Texas, four to east coast

Schedule should be out in a couple weeks.

 

No matter what they do, west coast teams have it tougher, but six trips to Texas... again... is ridiculous.

Texas makes sense. East Coast trips don't (especially if both NY and BOS only have 1 trip to the West Coast each)!

Actually, six trips to Texas makes NO sense. Why can't they have at least one road trip that includes Arlington and Houston on the same trip? It's stupid to have a trip to Arlington, then say, St Pete, then Toronto. That is horrendous scheduling.

The Angels do have Houston and Texas on the same trip, but in between they go to Minnesota.  At least they stay in the same time zone.

 

Yankees and Red Sox make one west coast trip.  How convenient.

 

Part of it is that the AL West plays the NL East next year.   AL East gets the NL Central.  West coast teams are at a disadvantage, but it seems that MLB could improve the schedule.

I remember when fans thought the Angels would play Texas and Houston on the same road trip. It's stupid to have Houston in the AL West. Arizona should've been moved to the AL West.

I agree. The Astros had been in the NL for more than 50 years. It would have made more sense to move a team with less history in the league.

Houston, we still have a problem.........Wouldn't make much of a difference this, except to give the Angels a more respectable record -- but if we could have gone something close to 13-5 against Houston to match Oakland and Texas' 16-2 record vs. Houston would have made the West a least a little more interesting.

 

I think we are something like 5-9 vs. Houston so far.........everyone is beating up on them but us.........
