I am quickly becoming less of a fan of this team based on its winning. However, at the same time I am enjoying watching baseball again. Very strange.

I think the problem people had with us winning was that it wasn't going to make a difference, and that in the end we'd still be a bad team, so winning 80 games or 70 wouldn't do anything but ruin our chances at getting a better pick. If this team has legitimately figured it out and plays well from here on out, then no problem. But if it's just an aberration then these winning streaks are detrimental in the long run.

 

Don't forget that having a top 5 pick doesn't only help us in the first round, it helps in the other rounds too. We get a top 5 pick in every round which could be the difference between a decent draft and a great one. That could end up being huge for our minor league system.
