Intends to and actually doing it are two different things.  I don't blame him for not signing an extension now because if he and Lebon don't work out or the team implodes for any other reason he has an out.  Unfortunately for the Lakers if that happens their next so many years will completely hinge on FA.  They're definitely all in on next year which was too be expected.

Exactly, with this dysfunctional management team and a 1st year coach, nothing is a given

A lot to give up, but honestly, I'm not gona miss any of these guys. I know Laker fans have been all over Ingram's nuts since the beginning but he's still just a prospect. With all the top first round picks they've had the last several years they haven't done shit with any of them.

"Kemba Walker will be a top target for the Los Angeles Lakers in free agency after they came to an agreement in principle with the New Orleans Pelicans on a deal for Anthony Davis, Marc Stein of the New York Times reports."

Unlike Ball, Walker can actually shoot the ball.   Today, PGs have to shoot the ball well.

By the way Loudmouthed LaVar, you think the Lakers will never win a title again?  They will have a better chance with a PG who can actually shoot the ball and not have defenders back off on him and play 5 on 4.

Unless an extension is part of the deal, there is no guarantees. I believe he said he wants to be in LA but there is another team in LA who has a better management and coach, If things go sour next year, there is no guarantee he won't leave.

Clippers are still the Clippers.  Zero NBA titles, and will always be the number two team in town.

The Pelicans will get the following picks from the Lakers, league sources tell ESPN: No. 4 pick in 2019 Top-8 protected in 2021, becomes unprotected in ‘22 Unprotected swap in ‘23 Unprotected first in ‘24 Unprotected swap in ‘25

The competition must have been really high for Davis for Lakers to give up that much.

What Vogel did with Indiana was done as a legit pro.

Ball and Ingram are essentially busts for where they were picked. And if the Lakers are as good as expected then the picks will be in the late 20's sans this draft, where no one after the two picks are considered franchise changers. The real loss will be Hart off the bench.

Rich Paul will have him sign an extension with LA.

And what the Lakers have under the cap depends on when the trade is officially completed.

If the Pelicans cooperate and hold off until iirc July 31, the Lakers would have $33 million to spend.

Kemba Walker, come on down.

And how will they fill out the rest of the lineup if they use the rest of their cap space on 1 player?

Big If as it reduces the Pelicans $
