It's hard to believe that Chris Nelson was the 9th overall pick in the 2004 draft. It's more proof that the MLB draft is a crap shoot (even in the top of the first round).

this seems like yet another indication to me that Dipoto and Scioscia aren't on the same page.  Don't think Cowgill is who Dipoto had in mind to get a look at these last couple months of the season.

If that is true, than why is Cowgill on the team?  Isn't it Dipoto who has the authority who is on the 25 man roster?  

 

If that is true, than why did Dipoto sign Cowgill in the first place?  Or is Scioscia another making that call as well.
