Worst loss ever?

Recommended Posts

I was an infant for game 5 of the 86 playoffs so I don't know how bad that hurt.  The two games that stick out in my mind are the playoff game against the Red Sox where we blew the squeeze play which would have forced a deciding game 5 and the A-rod homer of Fuentes playoff game.

Worst loss ever was Game Five to Milwaukee in 1982. Worst ever because it was a five-game series and we'd won the first two, and we led that game 3-1.

Second worst was 1986 Donnie Moore. Second only because we still had two chances to make amends, AND because we had done the same exact thing to Boston the game before (the game no one ever talks about).

Third worst was the Aytard Squeeze Game. We won 100 games and it was the same team doing it to us again, because of Aytard's stupidity (or Scioscia's, depending on how you look at it).

There have been MANY regular season games like last night's in my 30-plus years of following the Angels. They pale in comparison to postseason meltdowns.
