Red Sox acquire Jake Peavy

Recommended Posts

3 team deal with BOS/DET/CHW

Boston gets Jake Peavy and Brayan Villareal

Chicago gets Avisail Garcia and 3 prospects who I don't know a thing about, but aren't any of Boston's premiere prospects

Tigers get Jose Iglesias

Boston's GM is quickly putting his name in the mix for top GM's. They successfully sold high on Jose Iglesias, who, while fantastic with the glove, is noted to be pretty damn poor with the bat. He got off to an insane start but he is not a good hitter. Sold him to a team who bought into his .330 BA and used him as the main piece to get a good pitcher. Add in they got a RP who has serious stuff in Villareal

Jose Iglesias will provide the Tigers with insurance at shortstop in the event of a Biogenesis suspension for Jhonny Peralta.

I like it for Detroit as well. Iglesias isn't a good hitter but they VASTLY needed improvement in their infield D. Iglesias is very good defensively, and obviously Peralta will be suspended shortly. With the bats they have, they don't need Iglesias to hit anyway

Boston just did well in seling high on Iglesias as the main piece to end up getting Peavy. They managed to hang onto Bogaerts, Middlebrooks and Checcini
