Cardinals have inquired about Aybar

No way in hell I want Jenkins.

The Angels should require either Martinez or Wacha or both for Aybar, or no deal. There's not a Segura in this org to replace Aybar. Lindsey and Yarbrough could easily replace Kendrick's production however.

Not an immediate SS replacement, but Rondon is there maybe 3 years from now, with Stamets a nice stop gap starting maybe in late 2014 until Rondon is ready.

Haha no way the Cards deal Wacha or Martinez for Aybar. They know what they are doing.

Then no deal.

The Cardinals have nothing else appealing.

BTW, Martinez and Wacha are good prospects, but not TOP prospects IMO.

"a deal between the Cardinals and Angels that would have sent Aybar to St. Louis for two top pitching prospects has fallen apart.  It appears that the deal fell through upon St. Louis receiving a medical report on Aybar that contained a close up photo"

LOL  That's cold, man!

I don't know anything about these two pitchers, but every one of you seem excited about them. Can any of you give me some comparisons to these two pitchers? Do they project to be top of the rotation guys? Also, if this trade was close to happening, wouldn't Aybar be on the bench tonight?

Wacha is a strike thrower. He won't strikeout many batters, but should post a 3.50 - 3.75 ERA long term in the big leagues.

Martinez has good stuff, but battles command/control issues. Think Garrett Richards with more upside.

Michael Wacha

Top 100 list rankings for 2013

#34 on John Sickels top 150 list

#12 on Baseball America's midseason top 50

#18 on MLB.com's Top 100

#21 on Baseball Prospectus midseason top 50

#32 on ESPN Keith Law's midseason top 50

Carlos Martinez

#20 on John Sickels top 150

#24 on Baseball America's midseason top 50

#26 on MLB.com's top 100

#22 on Baseball Prospectus midseason top 50

Both guys are obviously very highly ranked on every major list. Both guys have top of the rotation potential. Martinez has the higher ceiling stuff wise, but Wacha has the better floor. Either would be a great get for this team

Garrett Richards with more upside?? Richards is a nobody. Martinez is a legit top pitching prospect in baseball. I disagree with this post entirely
