After seeing what they want from the Cardinals (top pitching prospect Martinez, top 2nd base prospect Wong, and a cost controlled starter Kelly), I hope the A's take him.

 

He has an ERA over 4 and is injury prone.

Why would the Cards even look at him? They have a pretty good pitching staff already.

The pitching staff is in good shape, with probably 8 or 9 guys who could potentially start next year.

 

But, these are mostly rookies and prospects.   Peavy would make sense in October where Lance Lynn or Shelby Miller might not yet be up for that.
