is very annoying and the type of player we need on our roster. Good defense, good baserunning, very good baseball IQ. He doesn't do a lot of stupid things. And, although his stats don't really paint him as a valuable player, I think the whole package and what he brings to the team more than makes up for it.

I would say his stats paint him as a valuable player.

I was thinking something similar. He always seems to be doing something. He's a player that can do a little bit of everything but doesn't excel at anything (except for basestealing). And yes, I think Bourjos is a similar type of player. Peter could hit .270 and be a very good player. When he's hitting .300+ he's a bonafide star.
