Albert Pujols - statistical update

Recommended Posts

No, I'm not messing around as you say. Winning is still important ... even if the team doesn't make the playoffs. Every games is a event which spectators pay so watch ... even last place teams celebrate on the field when they win. It's obvious his playing isn't going to hinder his future with the team. He'll have plenty of time to heal in the off season.

The last two games the Angels won were impacted by Pujols in the lineup.

Winning today is more important than anything, including competing for a WS someday in the future.

OK

Wining now is has no more importance than winning in Spring Training.

These games are meaningless. No matter who the Angels put on the field, I am sure they will try to win ballgames.
The future of the team and the org is much more important than seeing what kind of numbers Poojsy can put up in an attempt to salvage his personal "rep"..

No such thing as a meaningless game amiga ... unless you're referring to the standings. Every games is a event in itself in professional sports and has importance to the players and fans.

You ever witness a team like the Astros celebrate after a big win? You would think they won the WS.

Pujols wouldn't be playing if we was putting his future as a player in jeopardy. The chances of him getting surgery in the off season are slim at best.

Pujols remains the Albert Pujols, substantially diminished from his productive years.  If his feet are that bad he wouldn't be playing, period.  The guy just LOOKS old, especially when he runs.  Sure he might have a spurt or two left, but well short of what is needed in the #3 slot/DH.

The contrast between the #2 and #3 lineup slots is remarkable.  Trout, a young, energetic superstar with a brilliant future in front of him.  Pujols, an old, painfully slow, overweight, average hitter with a huge bank account.

Pujols and Hamilton are crap this year no way to get around that. Pupils has been bad with us for two years and is only getting older. When you get older you don't become more durable I hear that's one of the side effects for, getting older

.285/.343/.516 with 30 HR and 105 RBI in 2012 is bad?

Did you read the rest of the thread?

Poojsy's disastrous April-May last season put the TEAM in a hole it never could crawl out of.

Whatever numbers he puts up this year don't matter, because of the bad 1st half, and its drag on the TEAM.
