Scott Kazmir is throwing 94-96 again effortlessly. Great story. He was so down with #Angels I couldn't see him coming back. Inspiring.

Seems like pitching for the Angels means an automatic drop in velocity wtf.  If Weaver was with another team he'd probably be hitting 94 on the gun again.

Buckner, Schugel, and Grube seem all have done a better job keeping the ball in the park.  He's done better than Enright in that regard... and everything else... he has no business being in an MLB rotation, though.  He ranks 91st out of 100 PCL pitchers in HR/9.  There's a problem, there.

If you think all I'm basing this on is ERA, you are barking up the wrong tree.  There's a reason Matt Shoemaker is still in AAA.

Shoemaker's ball moves enough and can control is well enough that he could be a Jerome Williams type of pitcher for the Angels.  Best fit as a long reliever and is dependable enough to keep you in the game through short stretches as a starter.  I think we could see something similar form A.J. Schugel in the next couple years. But right now, Shoemaker is pitching well enough to be in the majors.  He's better than Blanton and Williams (right now).

He COULD be a fill in 5th starter or occasionally decent long reliever?

Be still, my beating heart.

This is just great.  But it's the lesser of two evils.  Richards has been bad at times, but not as consistently as Blanton.  And Richards hasn't been too bad lately.  He's been coming in for Blanton anyway, why not just flip the roles, and have Richards pitch four innings to start and Blanton pitch middle relief.
