Anyone from here affected by these fires?

The images look apocalyptic and just devastating.

Family friend of ours lost their house. Fire dept knocked and gave them 3 minutes to grab and go.

our power is shut off until tomorrow night but other than that I can’t complain with what’s happening up there.

I'm a few miles from the large one in Altadena. Lost power and internet. Trees and limbs down all over my street. Lost some shingles, had damage to my patio and deck. Booked a room at a hotel for tonight just to have power and to get out of the smoke.

Two friends of mine lost their houses (one in Altadena, one in Pacific Palisades), so I can't complain too much.

Ya our friend lost theirs in Altadena. Didn’t even have time to find both of their cats. Got the dogs out and had to go, then poof.

My friend in the Palisades was out of town yesterday, so she didn't get to save anything. Just awful.

Sad situation. Hopefully it stabilizes soon.  I have relatives in the Valley, but everyone is scared and depressed by this reality check from nature.

I'm visiting L.A. in a bit more than a month. Staying in Huntington Beach for a few days, but plan to go into L.A. for a day. There's a rumor that flight's from Vancouver to L.A. might be cancelled today.

Terrible situation. Stay safe!

Co-workers niece doesn’t know about her house but her kids school and their church burned down. The videos and pictures are unreal. The wind has eased up in OC near me hopefully the same is happening in LA. Best of luck to everyone affected and those fighting the fires and providing other services.

Just looked at Cal Fire website. It’s hard to imagine a worse scenario than what is unfolding. Hoping everyone and all of their 2 legged and four legged loved ones stay safe.

Tip of the cap to In and Out for taking care of firefighters.

I will talk to some people about getting rain delivered to the area.

I’m sure retired LA county firemen @PattyD22 appreciates the hell out of that as I’m sure he knows so many out there right now with little to no resources to work with and up against some crazy winds.

Thank you. 🙏🏻

Absolutely @Chuck.  I’m sure that member that doesn’t want you to say anything is really an amazing dude, despite what some may think.  That’s an awesome gesture and it won’t go unappreciated.

My son Erik and his crew have been part of a strike team since the initial fire broke out in Pacific Palasades.  My son in law, is assigned to the Eaton Fire as of yesterday.  The reports I’m getting from them is utter devastation from both incidents.  I’ve been on many firestorms like this but nothing with the complete devastation we’re seeing.  It’s apocalyptic.  I hope and pray for the crews and the families of all affected.

Several friends of mine have had to evacuate. Our cars are packed and we’re ready to leave when called to do so. We lost power last night for a few hours but we’re good now.

The sky today looked bizarre.

Good job, said individual.

Speaking as someone who lives in a fire risk area, don't wait if you don't need to. My experience is that the time interval between "get set" and "go now" is miniscule compared to the "get ready" and "get set" interval.

There's an app called Watch Duty that's awesome.  Updated constantly, with maps, links to resources, live shots, etc., and can send alerts with breaking news  You can find it in the app store, but here's a link to the website:

https://www.watchduty.org/

This one is great!
