Firefighters are trying to prevent the fire from jumping the 210/215.  That's just amazing.  That's a lot of distance and property between Eaton and the freeways.

Channel 5 is showing Franklin Elementary school in altadena on fire.  Looking at it on Google maps.  holy shit.  About 2 blocks from JPL.  Way away from the mountains.  Like it's way closer to JPL than to the mountains.  If that's how far the fire is, the count of houses burned could be in the thousands.

Watching the TV coverage. Pretty gnar.

I don't get the wisdom of having a reporter interviewing a man who's standing next to his totally destroyed home in Altadena. All that's left is a chimney. His classic car collection also destroyed. His wife refused to go before the camera. She's standing off screen, thoroughly shocked.

Reporter asking stupid questions like, how do you feel? Just stop it! Leave these poor people alone!

There are tens of thousands of evacuations and no place to house them.

Pasadena Convention Center is handling many evacuees in the Altadena fire. The 90+ old folks from the assisted living center were taken there late last night.
