But not small sample sizes.

The last 19 games for Pujols might qualify, but this was after he said things were getting better.

Things were getting better...

...Until he opened his mouth and said things were getting better.

Waiting for the season where Trumbo doesn't disappear for two months

I used to believe Trumbo should be virtually untouchable, but now think that if you can trade him for a decent, cost-controlled arm, it makes sense to at least consider it.  Of course with how bad he has been slumping I don't see any team willing to make such a trade.

Trumbo is probably pretty easy to replace on the open market.  Every year it seems like there are a number of DH types who don't require huge commitments.

Trumbo should probably go nowhere.  Things don't matter at all in the short run, Trumbo is entertainment for the fans, and most of all he is cheap.  We need to be focusing on 2-3 years out it appears.  Trumbo will either develop into a decent trade piece, or he'll figure out how to be consistently good, or he will become worthless (then we can move to Chron).  Let's see if he can improve his game.  I think we are focusing too much on the short term.

Has it been 19 games since that ridiculous piece came out about him 'finding his stroke'? I knew that was a whammy....

The stories appeared on June 19/20, which is about 20 games ago, but he felt things were better two weeks before that.

June 5, first game of a DH against Boston, is when he felt his old stroke returning. The news articles appeared two weeks later, but he said it was June 5 when he felt everything clicking once again.

Since June 5th (33 games total), he's hitting .260 with a 162-game projected 30 HR and 100 RBI. The 2012 Albert, but with a lower batting average.

The last 20 games, though, he's under .200.
