always love the bunker shots that make the best players in the world look like weekend hackers down at the local 9 hole

The faces of those bunkers were made stacking sod - like laying brick.  When hackers like us play, of course we'd get balls rolling into the pot bunker and you make a decision to go out sideways or even backward, because the face of the bunker can be 5 to 6 feet tall.  Sometimes you can blade your approach shot and it will lodge in the face of the pot bunker.  The you have hit it out t-ball style or take an unplayable lie.

 

Those pot bunkers are a pain in the butt.
