Also, take away his April 9 (before the DL stint) and June 23 (everything going wrong that day in blowing a big lead vs Pitt) outings, and in 21 innings, Jepsen has a sub 1.00 ERA and just over 1.00 WHIP.

To be sure, Frieri, Jepsen, DDLR, Downs, and Kohn is no Arson Squad.

Now if only Coello and either Madson or Burnett could return by a month from now.

He and Kohn are the guys who can make it a 4 inning pen with a lead and can hold it close when looking to come from behind. This makes a huge difference going forward, especially with iffy health in the rotation.

I wonder if Dane plays some TE too. He is a very large man.

Maybe potentially add Chad Cordero to that group in another week or two?

He's rounding into form at SLC (10 straight scoreless outings, solid 3.86 ERA and 26/7 Ks/BBs ratio for that league).
