Jose Mota-isms: Cannot re-emphasize the winds enough additions

Recommended Posts

"The dimensions are one of them, obviously, because the gaps are very small -- 368 -- and then down the lines, even though some of the measures are a little bit longer than other ball park is of course, is the wind, and, believe it or not, most days, the wind is blowing in in this ballpark, when at times actually provides a little bit more lift for guys to get the ball up in the air and like a good airplane wing, you know what?  It's all about getting some wings and get some air under those wings."

With insight like this, hard to believe that this guy isn't a hitting coach somewhere.

I like Jose Mota. We laugh, but honestly, I am not bi-lingual either. He can communicate with more people, and being able to translate from one language to another while interviewing is not something that most people in the world can do. So props to him. I appreciate his honest analysis, he certainly does not sugar coat poor fundamentals.

The funniest thing I ever heard as far as an interview is concerned was actually by Michael Eaves. Does anybody remember the time that he interviewed Kendrys a few years ago without a translator? LMAO  That was classic!

Jose is the greatest.  I used to get so upset that he was doing the pre- and post-game.  Now I can't imagine it any other way.  He loves his job and does his very best.  The dude is all class and will give any fan the time of day.

No ego with Jose.  And I reckon he works very hard at improving his language skills.  Might even look for some pointers here from time to time.

Keep up the good work, Jose!
