Gotta get Vargas back soon. Hoping they can get past .500 this next week heading into the break

• LHP Jason Vargas (blood clot in left armpit) was placed on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 18. He had surgery June 26. He won't throw until mid-July, and there's no timetable for his return.

It doesn't sound like he'll be back until the the last week of July at the soonest.

I would like to see us take at least 4 out of 5 in this next road trip. That would put us 1 game over .500 entering the All Star break.

Yeah. The Angels are going to face some tough pitching on the road trip (Wood, Samardzija, F. Hernandez, and probably Iwakuma).

Shucks's defense has cost the Angels this week and could have been costly today if not for great pitching by Weaver in the first inning.

Indeed the team is playing exceptional ball over the past few weeks. If they can get the defense squared up, they'll be in prime shape for a second half run.

 

Would love to see them sweep the Cubs and perhaps give Albert the weekend off when they play the Mariners. A full week of rest to relieve that plannar ailment would be ideal.
