I think the spring training roster depth that the Angels have is pretty below average. Guys like Field, Cousins, Shuck, along with some of the arms we're running out there, all either not ready to face big league hitters/pitching or as I noted, 4-A type guys. 

 

Once we start rolling out our BP arms that will be on the 25-man roster and our full lineup will play for 6-8 innings, then we can judge the success/failures of this team.

I don't know if I would group Field in with those other guys.

I think he might be a better UT INF type than Romine, honestly.

But ya, I'm not concerned about their record other than it shows how little pitching depth the team has.

rusty implies that the ability is still there - not sure it is in Cordero's case.  Don't get me wrong, I'm rooting for the guy, but it's been an eternity in baseball time since he's been good.

Relief pitching is hard enough to keep consistent from year to year. I would say seized rather than rusty at this point!

I have seen the A's blow the Angels out more than any other team the last 5 years, both in Spring Training and especially at the Big A. I am not comfortable with the A's becoming our Daddy's.

Ya, and at this point all he's showing is a slower fastball(and he wasn't a hard thrower to begin with) and a below average breaking pitch.

 

I'm rooting for him, but this is a good reminder of how long a shot he is to be a productive major leaguer again at this point.
