Fact is if he got a decent job and knew how to take a proper route to the ball he could have caught it.

can't get an error on a ball you can't reach.

 

Our record would be well over .500 had Bourjos been in the game and Shuck on the bench all year. Lots of plays that rolled into the corner for RBII doubles would have been caught by Trout or Bourjos in left. They weren't scored as errors as Shuck wasn't close enough to make "routine" plays on them.
